Humanist Funeral Celebrant in Cardiff
Cardiff is my home, and it has been for most of my life. I was born and raised in Cardiff West, went to school in Llandaff, and have now settled back in St Fagans with my family.
When I lead a funeral ceremony in Cardiff, I’m not just familiar with the city in a professional sense - I know its communities, its character, and the people who make it what it is.
As an accredited Humanist celebrant, I offer non-religious funeral ceremonies that are written entirely from scratch, built around the person who has died. Every word is drawn from conversations with the people who loved them. The result is a service that feels genuinely personal - one that leaves those attending feeling that the ceremony truly reflected them.
I regularly conduct ceremonies at both of Cardiff’s crematoria: the Wenallt and Briwnant Chapels at Thornhill Crematorium, and the Cardiff and Glamorgan Memorial Park and Crematorium in Barry,
I’m equally comfortable in other settings - village halls, community centres, pubs, parks and gardens, or wherever feels most meaningful to the family.
I also work closely with funeral directors across Cardiff, including many of the city’s independent firms. If you’re working with a funeral director and would like to request me specifically, you are always entitled to do so. It is your right as a family to choose your own celebrant.
If your loved one chose a direct cremation, that doesn’t mean there can’t be a service of some kind Many Cardiff families choose to hold a separate memorial service or celebration of life - at a time, venue and pace that suits them. I can lead this kind of gathering anywhere in Cardiff that is meaningful to you, from Bute Park to a family home in Pontprennau. There is no ‘right’ setting for a farewell.
If you’d like to talk about what a humanist funeral or memorial in Cardiff might look like, please get in touch. I’m always happy to have a conversation with no pressure and no obligation.
